Dental Office Financial Coordinator
Overview:
The Dental Office Financial Coordinator is responsible for managing the financial operations of the dental practice, ensuring that billing, collections, and patient account management are handled efficiently and accurately. This role requires taking initiative, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Billing and Collections:
- Prepare and submit insurance claims and ensure timely follow-up on outstanding claims.
- Manage patient billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
- Oversee patient payment plans and collections, ensuring compliance with practice policies.
- Insurance Verification:
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits before appointments.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of insurance policies and procedures.
- WE use a remote employee for most verifications, however there are times that it must be done in office, when patients are added in last minute, or present with a change in insurance.
- Financial Reporting:
- Generate and analyze financial reports, including revenue, accounts receivable, and outstanding balances.
- Provide financial data to practice management for strategic planning.
- Patient Account Management:
- Maintain accurate patient financial records and ensure confidentiality.
- Communicate with patients regarding their accounts, payment options, and financial assistance programs.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with the dental team to coordinate financial processes and ensure a seamless patient experience.
- Train and support staff in financial policies and procedures.
- Compliance and Regulations:
- Ensure adherence to dental practice regulations and financial compliance standards.
- Stay updated on changes in billing and insurance practices.

Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of Dental Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or related field preferred.
- Previous experience in dental office administration, finance, or a related field is highly desirable.
- Proficient in dental software and billing systems (e.g., Dentrix, Eaglesoft).
- Strong understanding of dental insurance processes and regulations.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality.
- Ability to Use Microsoft Suite; Excel and Google spreadsheets.
